Athletics Reflection

What was the most enjoyable part of athletics for you? Why?  The most enjoyable part of athletics for me was hurdles because i thought it was much better than last year because instead of having a short hurdle after another, after another, and then one big one. This year it was two little ones and two big ones. I think is was good having the two big ones at the end because that challenged me to try and not nock them over wear as the little ones were easy to jump over.

What are you really proud of? Why? I am really proud of coming 2nd in sprints I usually come second but this year I was a few centimeters away from beating my best friend Emily (next year I might beat her) the scary thing was that I could hear Jayde breathing behind me. So i am still really really proud of myself for coming second.

What was the most challenging part? Why? The most challenging part for me was doing the 800 meter run around the Massey track 2 times. It was challenging not just for me but for all the year five girl because it was our first time going around the Massey track two times. At the end all the girl basically collapsed on the grass because we could barley walk i lay down for about ten minutes and after that my legs were still shaking.

Where to now? What are your goals for next time? Why do you want to focus on this? My goal for next time is probably to come first in the sprint finals i think i could come first in sprints because i was so so so close to coming first. I want to focus on coming first in the sprint finals because i have always wanted to beat Emily and this year i was so close so i really think i could come first next year.

Description: In maths this term we have been learning about all the different types of graphs and what they can be used for for example there is a bar graph, a pie graph, a dot graph, a triangle graph, a pictorial graph and a broken line graph. In Elly's math groups we made a slide about things that will reflect on our learning and help us. I did my slide with Renae and we did it about market day so that would help us with if people would bye our product or not. Here is our slide (graph)

Market day

Description: On the 11th of November we had something called market day. You may have heard of a normal market which has craft, food, clothes, garden tools and pot plants. Our market day was different because we hand made all our product in a group of 2 or 3. i was in a group of three i was with Bella L and Emily S. In my group we had the idea of making clay models but then Bella and her mum found out that gummies would be much easier so we did that and that was great that we decided to do that because we sold out well most people did but is was great that we sold out.

Book Buddies

Description: In book buddies this term we are basically doing the same thing as last term but this term we could chose who we wanted to go with but we couldn't go with the bookapeida people. MY last terms book buddy was Renae and i chose to go with here again because we are friends and we work well together. Here is my term 4 book buddies slide.

Taking risks

Description:  This term some year sixes where learning to take risks with the teachers and with some ashurst teachers. Today we got a sheet that had risks in our learning my risks are down her i have some stratigies to help me with my risk.

Description: The art we are doing is called The Drunkens Path. The Drunkens Path art is when you get a couple of bits of paper and make them look cool and crazy by painting then and using lots of different colours and textures. Here is my finished product:


Evaluation: I think I did well with my art it was really hard but I finished it and it looks GREAT.

Complex Sentances

Description: This term for writing we poutama split up into three groups i was with Elly. We have been learning about  all different types of sentences there is a simple sentence a compound sentence and a complex sentence. I am with my friend Jayde we help each other every time we do writing because i struggle with ones she doesn't  and she struggles with ones i don't. Here is our slide...........

Evaluation: I think FANBOYS has really helped me understand what the main conjunction words are and the information on the slide has really helped me understand what the difference between each sentences.

ET Reo Portfolio Post

Description: Every monday the non Kapa-Haka people do ET Reo With Elly and Troy. We have 2  different whakatauki if you don't know what a whakatauki is its like a saying and its sort of like a quote. The whakatauki we have been working on is "He aha mea te nui o ao?" "He Tangata! He Tangata! He Tangata!" that means "What is the most important thing in the world?  "The people! The people! The people!" We Made a big display of art we got to chose to draw someone and i chose Ruby M Here it is.....

Evaluation: I think i need to work on my pronunciation of our whakatauki.

Description: In maths lately we have been learning about all different types of measurement there is weight capacity and area. The ones I think are the hardest are campsite and area. Weight I think was the easy ist because i anderstood how to do it. The porpoise of mesurement this term was when we did a sheet of math everyone was mostly stuck so we had irks hops about all different types of mesurement.

Book buddies

Description: this term e have been doing this thing called book buddies its where you have a buddy that you chose a book with and you have to have a discussion with your buddy about how much you are going to read. You have to chose a reading card and work on it with your buddy.We do book buddies every tuesday.

Discovery time

This Monday we started to do discovery time and we will be doing it every Monday now.
There were lots of different activites the ones that inntristed me was the art one and the finger knitting. In the art one I drew westpack stadium and for the finger knitting one I just plaited some wool. I discovered that with pastels it's confusing when you want to put to colour on the same thing because you have to do one first and then the other. The task that took me the longest was the westpack stadium because it was very detailed and I was useing pastels. Here is my work.

Te Reo Maori Portfolio Sample

Description: Every Monday afternoon when all the Kapa Haka people go to kapa Haka all the people that don't go to kapa Haka stay and gather in room 12 we are learning a song it's called Aoteroa by Stan Walker we were also learning about Maori food you could do lots of different things you could do a Kahoot or flash card there were lots of different options. I chose to do a Kahoot with Emily,Jayde and Bella L.


Evaluation: The learning in this task was about Maori food we were trying to learn about lots of food in Maori we got sent a photo of lots of Maori food and we had to find a way to present it.

Feedback: I think your Kahoot looks really cool and I want to try it

My moon inquiry Portfolio Sample

Description: For science we were learning about the moon we were learning about the moon for three weeks so basically what we had to do was Nic sent us a slide about the moon and we ha do fill it in two of the slides were about what we already new about the moon and the other one was about what we think or want to find out. The rest of the slides were about measuring the moon we had to measure with our fists down from were the moon. Was till our arms got straight and the other one we had me sure how many fists to the horizon.


Evaluation: the learning in this task was we had to explain and show what we know,think or want to find out you could choose lots of different ways one of the ways was poster a movie, drawing or writing your ideas.

Feedback: I like how you added lots of helpful facts about the moon i now know lots more that i didn't know about the moon.
Feedfoward:Next time I think you could of added some more things that you think, I love how you have added lots of facts you already know but I would like to know more about what you think about the moon.

Stage six advanced additive Portfolio Sample

Description: On the 23 of May we did a maths knowledge test and we did one earleir  and I got 20% and I have improved because I have been practicing and my other score was 34%. I like doing these tests because they challenge be heaps and I like when maths challenges me. The test had lots of different maths questions some of them were really easy like 10+11=21 but some of them were really hard. There were all different types of math questions like how do you write this number or what's this time that. The ones that I found the hardest were the times tables because I am not that good at my times tables so i need to work on them.

Evaluation: The learning in this task was that he test was telling the teacher were you were at in maths so if you were really good at something you might go up a group or if you are not so good at one thing you might go down a group or you might stay were you are.
